PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT ANALYST

The Portfolio Management Analyst (PMA) will be responsible for performing detailed analysis of existing investments and potential investment opportunities. For existing investments, the PMA will develop, maintain and produce a suite of investment reports, including for portfolio management, asset management, financial reporting and periodical investor reporting. The PMA will analyze the data in those reports to draw conclusions about investment performance and communicate those conclusions to the Portfolio Management and Asset Management teams. The PMA will also be responsible for building investment projection models for various investment funds. For potential investment opportunities, the Analyst will perform various market analyses required for determining the viability of new investments and participate in the decision-making process to determine which investments the firm will pursue. The PMA will be familiar with all data systems and sources utilized for various analyses, as well as evaluate and source new data. This is a highly detail oriented and analytical position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, build, maintain and produce portfolio management, asset management, and financial reports
• Perform detailed review and analysis of reports to draw conclusions about investment performance at both the fund, market and asset level
• Work closely with Portfolio Management and Asset Management teams to ensure all relevant information about the performance of portfolios and assets are being communicated in a timely manner
• Perform macro, market, and sub-market analysis of US housing and residential mortgage markets to stay abreast of market, regulatory and other developments, and to evaluate potential new investment opportunities
• Produce and update periodical investor reporting across multiple investment funds
• This role will work very closely with Portfolio Management, Asset Management, Finance and the Investment Committee
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Engineering or related field with strong record of analytical ability and academic achievement; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of investment research, data analysis and reporting experience
• This role will require attention to detail and an understanding of residential real estate
• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel required.
• Strong experience with financial modeling, including detailed property-level financial statement analysis, budgeting/forecasting and performance metrics.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Windows, Excel and Word is required and must be comfortable learning new custom computer systems.
• Ability to hold confidential all information that is proprietary to the management of Sylvan Road, subsidiaries, affiliates and investors.
• Highly organized, extremely proactive and detail oriented individual with the ability to multitask and communicate effectively.
