JOB SUMMARY
This candidate will function as the Director of Business Development for the Greater Dallas area, and the surrounding 5-state region. This role focuses on identifying and developing key partnerships with targeted housing, hospitality and commercial developers, while cultivating existing relationships with current clients, to generate new opportunities, increase the project pipeline, and provide billable work for the Dallas staff. This role also leverages robust relationships within the A/E/C community to proactively find opportunities and drive these advantaged leads through the appropriate BKV Group teams.

The position reports to the CEO, working alongside the Director of Marketing, Director of Professional Services, and Managing Partner of Dallas. Compensation is base salary plus incentivized and annual bonuses.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• The Director of Business Development will establish, implement, and maintain the business development short and long-range goals for the Dallas office.
• This candidate will promote and establish collaboration and individual leadership within the Dallas team to identify, acquire, and maintain new and existing clientele. This incorporates working alongside the marketing team to conduct client and market research to build our network of client touchpoints.
• This candidate will continually evaluate the team’s strategies and effectiveness in planning and winning projects, while implementing processes for improvements based on observations, trends, and feedback discovered during marketing, networking, and client-interfacing events.
• This candidate will take responsibility for client communication efforts by ensuring on-time delivery and follow-up on site studies and proposals, while consistently scheduling prospective presentations and meetings for our Dallas leadership to interface with clients and target developers.
• This candidate will initiate and maintain extensive contacts with strategic industry partners in the Dallas designated region (including civil engineers, GC’s, zoning attorneys, brokers, and more). This includes joining organizations where our clients and partners invest their time.
• This candidate is responsible for driving results by attending client-centric conferences and industry events, with a specific focus on economic development and research, to connect with new and existing clients to continually guide the Dallas market sector leaders to new opportunities.


QUALIFICATIONS
• Professional expertise demonstrated through 10+ years of proven ability to drive results that meet revenue and profitability goals through successful lead generation/follow through, market research, customer relations, pursuit development, and client management in the A/E/C industry.
• Experience in the commercial real estate, real estate development, multifamily development, economic development, and/or project management is preferred, in addition to experience assisting a marketing department in the development of proposals, presentations, and additional marketing collateral.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or Finance from an accredited college or university required. Master’s Degree is a plus. A real estate license or broker’s license is a plus.
• Ability to build extensive and reputable relations with clients, strategic partners, and community members within Dallas, the larger metro area, and region; keen familiarity with Dallas proper is a requirement.
• Experience with a CRM system is required in order to plan, track, report, and schedule sales activities. Microsoft Office Suite experience is required. Adobe Creative Suite experience is preferred.
• Exceptional self-motivation, customer service orientation, communication, writing, and presentation skills. This candidate will also be asked to assist with development of BKV Group staff to improve client relationship management skills.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, problem solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Must work well with a team and a variety of personalities.
• Excellent time management and organization skills with the ability to become involved in and remain current on issues relating to several concurrent opportunities in various stages.
• Strong ability and marketing reputation for leading by example to assist the broader office in properly positioning for new commissions.
• Active leader and member of varied professional and community organizations (i.e. CCIM, Chamber of Commerce, AIA, DBIA, ULI, CREW, AAGD, TEXO, SMPS, ASHE, ACHE, etc.)
