Your Team
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation, monitoring, and communication of the day-to-day operational accounting for the Division. The scope of this responsibility includes preparation of the initial draft of the financial statements through extensive month- and quarter-end working paper procedures and preliminary analysis.
Your Key Deliverables
- Monitoring, interpreting, and communicating operating & financial results of the Division, as well as preparing preliminary analysis of the results.
- Preparing month-end, quarter-end and year-end working papers.
- Preparation (sections depending) of the quarter-end Management Meeting Package
- Populating and maintaining the budgets and forecasts for variance reporting and cost controls no less than monthly
- Attending various department and interdepartmental meetings to obtain information for analysis and reporting plus provide information & support to other departments
- Provide support and solutions to accounting, administrative, and operations staff
- Analyze and implement on-going process efficiencies
- Prepare, review, and approve all daily accounting
- Cash Flow Forecast – preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual cash flow forecasts with applicable variance analysis
- Operating Income Forecast – assisting in preparation of monthly guidance updates with applicable variance analysis
- Business Plan - assisting in the creation of divisional continuities, creation of detailed business plan rollups, as well as any detailed analysis required on results
- On a periodic basis, responsible for providing information (financial and process, written and verbal) to the applicable external auditor for testing and compliance analysis
- Involved time-to-time on projects that are relevant to the Department and the Division. These will be on an as-required basis and may include projects associated with other departments or within the Accounting group itself.
Must Haves
- Four-year accounting degree with 3-5 years’ experience
- Extremely capable in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Accounting Job Costing systems
- Experience in multi entity real estate organization
- Proven experience in financial reporting, full cycle and job cost accounting, process evaluation, internal control assessments & documentation
- Self-motivated, comfortable taking initiative and possess superior organizational skills
Nice to Haves
- Current CPA or CPA candidate would be an advantage
