We are seeking a talented and dynamic individual to join our commercial sales team. Dwyer Marble & Stone Supply is a leading wholesale distributor of stone and tile. The commercial sales team is responsible for the specification, quotation, lead follow-up, closing and project management of commercial projects, including mall/retail, corporate/industrial, automotive, educational, hospitality, healthcare, and multi-unit residential facilities throughout North America.
Job Purpose: Generate revenue by soliciting and obtaining orders; understanding and interpreting project requirements; providing technical information; developing accounts and opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accomplish department and organization goals by accepting ownership of new projects and opportunities and applying resourcefulness to arrive at best solutions.
- Work directly with Outside Sales to understand and follow project specifications.
- Respond to quote requests and follow proposals through to close.
- Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts; soliciting new accounts; building rapport with customers; providing technical information; preparing quotations.
- Follow customer orders through to fulfillment; communicating expected delivery date; explaining any deviations in service or delivery and managing delivery logistics.
- Develop accounts by understanding customer’s history and needs; suggest related and new items; explain technical features.
- Understand and communicate installation standards and recommend appropriate add-on products.
- Stay current with industry and product advances. Participate in educational opportunities and industry groups.
Qualifications: Candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum BS or BA degree
- Two years of business to business Inside Sales experience and/or purchasing and/or logistics
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in various stages
- Architectural or Construction Industry experience preferred
- Stone and/or Tile Industry experience a plus
- Exceptional Customer Service abilities
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Superior math skills
- Project Coordination skills
- Effective listener
- Drive and the ability to see complex tasks through to completion
- Well organized: sets and meets weekly, monthly and annual goals and objectives
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel
