Description
Bookkeeper/Legal Coordinator for a busy, high volume apartment complex. The multifamily residential property is a large 50+ acre garden-style 1,100 unit apartment complex located in Yonkers, NY. The landscape consists of streetscapes, green courtyards, playgrounds, laundry rooms and a lake.
We are seeking a responsible candidate with excellent verbal communication, written communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills who enjoys working in a fast paced office, problem solving, interacting with residents and someone who is a team player.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for tracking daily rent collections and mailing out daily deposits via Fedex to the lockbox
- Answer resident inquiries regarding their accounts
- Develop and maintain relationships with Subsidy Contract Administrators
- Manage Landlord/Tenant Legal Cases (non-payments, holdovers, etc)
- Maintain relationships with Landlord and Tenant counsel
- Responsible for issuing Lease Violation Notices
- Complete account break-downs (including Section 8 accounts)
- Complete DSS paperwork
- Complete required Section 8 renewal paperwork
- Coordinate with the Accounts Receivable department in the corporate office
- Collate and issue rent statements on a monthly basis
- Review Aged Delinquency report on a monthly basis with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager
- Conduct a lease file audit of current residents
- Track progress of legal cases and repayment agreements
- Follow-up on Section 8 suspensions until rent is restored
- Track Changes for Section-8 accounts (changes to the Hap Share Contract, etc.)
- Lease Renewal Administration
- Coordinate with other departments within the Management Office as needed (i.e., Leasing, Maintenance, etc.)
Qualifications
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in residential rental real estate required
- Experience with ETPA and non-ETPA leases
- Experience with MRI is preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
