ACQUISITIONS ASSOCIATE
Newport Beach, CA

Boardwalk Investments Group, LLC ("Boardwalk") is a privately held commercial real estate investment company. Headquartered in Newport Beach, California. The Firm currently manages a commercial real estate portfolio comprised of retail, mixed-use, office and multifamily assets located primarily in Orange County, California and is led by a seasoned management team with over 50 years of commercial real estate experience. Since 2012, Boardwalk's investment strategy is to actively acquire, stabilize, and manage commercial real estate located in core, coastal markets in California. In 2019, the Firm transacted in over $150 million of acquisitions including grocery-anchored, mixed-use and high street retail assets.

Boardwalk is currently seeking an Acquisitions Associate to join our team in Newport Beach, CA. Working closely with the VP of Acquisitions, the Acquisitions Associate will assist with all aspects of acquiring commercial real estate.  Primary responsibilities will be to analyze active and potential real estate investment transactions, conduct and review due diligence, and assist with the close of transactions.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with due diligence for real estate investments, including market research and analysis of industry trends, financial modeling, and valuation.
  • Develop pro-forma, DCF and acquisition models.
  • Conduct market research and analyze market data to evaluate acquisition opportunities.
  • Analyze and review property financials, tenant credit/financials, title, survey, zoning, insurance, and 3rd party reports.
  • Review, interpret and summarize real estate leases.
  • Coordinate and manage the delivery of critical due diligence documents.
  • Set up and maintain due diligence files.
  • Coordinate the closing process and obtain copies of all relevant closing documentation, including final settlement statement, recorded documents, the final title insurance policy.
  • Track, analyze, and report on multiple acquisitions on a weekly basis.
  • Support new acquisitions post-investment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from four-year accredited university in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
  • Minimum of two years commercial real estate analysis experience required.
  • Individual should have an advanced understanding of Excel with financial modeling experience.  Argus experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments in a time sensitive environment.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Individual should be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • SalesForce experience is ideal.
