About the Job: The Associate within Portfolio Management will primarily be responsible for supporting the Portfolio Management team in managing the Firm’s real estate portfolios consisting of private equity and loan positions across various asset classes. This job is ideal for someone who has the ability to multi-task under pressure, prioritize workflow and assignments. We are looking for individuals who have worked in banking or private equity with exposure to real estate or financial restructuring. A successful Associate within the Portfolio Management team is eager to further their knowledge, skills and abilities to take on new challenges in order to progress their professional growth.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the performance of assets and projects under construction/development, including review of budgets and financial statements; developing cash flow models; producing regular reports to investors / capital providers
  • Monitoring and reporting on compliance under transaction documents; coordinating with legal counsel, appraisers, auditors, construction and/or property consultants and other deal service providers
  • Managing the review of loan / capital funding requests in coordination with construction consultants, loan servicers and other service providers
  • Assisting with transaction events such as collateral releases, repayment of loans and enforcement action; participating in the development and implementation of strategies for special situations
  • Maintaining financial projections for individual assets; analyzing financial statements and reporting on variances; reviewing appraisals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Economics, Finance, or related focus of study preferred or minimum 4 years in related field
  • A graduate from a top-tier college institution, a plus, but not required
  • Minimum 4-7 years’ experience working in real estate portfolio management, conversant with both private equity and loan transactions
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting; strong analytical/modeling skills
  • Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional business writing skills; ability to navigate through complex legal documents an advantage
