Building and Land Technology (BLT), founded in 1982, is a privately held real estate developer, manager and private equity firm.   BLT is vertically integrated and has invested in, developed, owned and managed in excess of 25 million square feet of commercial, hotel and residential properties across 26 states.  BLT is also the largest franchisee of Sotheby’s residential real estate brokerage, with 28 offices and 1,000 real estate agents. 


Position Description: BLT is seeking a highly motivated real estate professional to join our multifamily team in Stamford, CT. The Analyst will perform financial modeling, project underwriting and analysis, market research, transaction due diligence, and business plans and approval memoranda for developments, leasing, financings, and dispositions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, analyze, and report the financial performance of the multifamily portfolio. 
  • Participate in the management of development projects including financial modeling, budgeting, financing, pricing, lease-up, and asset management.
  • Conduct financial modeling such as cash flow projections, occupancy projections, underwriting, and valuations using Microsoft Excel.
  • Organize and participate in the preparation and review of annual property operating budgets and business plans.
  • Track, maintain, and update sales and rent comparable databases.
  • Perform macro and micro market research, which may include site visits.
  • Prepare disposition memorandum for institutional counterparts.
  • Interface with lenders, equity partners, legal, and other third-party vendors.
  • Participate in property calls with partners, third party managers and leasing agents.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates will have 1-3 years of related experience in the multifamily real estate industry performing acquisitions, underwriting, valuation, due diligence, asset management and/or financial analysis.
  • Strong financial, modeling, and analytical abilities.
  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university with a strong academic or work background in financial analysis, mathematics, accounting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize.
