Company Overview:
Our team is currently representing an elite, international boutique investment advisor that recently built out a diversified commercial real estate advisory and investment platform. Their team is composed of highly qualified, multi-disciplinary, seasoned professionals who provide independent, objective, and collaborative analysis within specific asset classes and geographical expertise, partnering with outside advisors when necessary.

Our client works across the investment spectrum including single-asset acquisitions, closed-end private equity fund / REIT investments, lease vs sale transactions, refinancing / recapitalizations, and portfolio-level transactions. The strategy includes conducting extensive due diligence to manage risk, reduce overall cost and, where possible, increase operational efficiencies.

The team provides value-added advisory services to transactions and acquisition strategies, including efficient ownership structuring, operations, financing and repositioning solutions within the context of clients’ real estate portfolios and broader family balance sheets. The inclusion of real estate has complemented their core investment strategy which has led to making investment recommendations across almost twenty real estate developments since 2019.

Position Responsibilities:
Our client is in market for a Senior Associate to support the firm’s real estate advisory and investment team. This position will work directly with the lead partner on the Real Estate business as well as the Managing Partners of the firm.

Day-to-day tasks include:
• Create, maintain, update and manage the firm’s real estate financial models, which includes generating IRR calculations, as well as modeling carried interest crystallization calculations, refinancings, scenarios analyses, project/JV and other pertinent financial modeling to assist the firm’s partners in negotiating and structuring deals
• Asset management support of existing real estate projects / portfolio
• Interact with senior investment professionals; collaborate with the acquisition, asset management, finance, and outside partners
• Help create, edit, and update compelling marketing materials for future projects to prospective investors (e.g., PowerPoint pitchbook presentations/marketing decks, private placement memorandums, DDQs etc
• Produce frequent ad hoc fund impact analyses factoring asset acquisitions, dispositions, multi-tiered carried interest crystallization calculations, changing market conditions, and other investment scenarios
• Compile quarterly internal/external reporting materials for management and investors, review business plans and asset management models and coordinate team-follow-ups
• Coordinate and create materials, analyses, and models for the valuation of the firm’s properties for audit reporting purposes
• Create external investor portfolio reports, presentations, and other correspondence
• Track and actively monitor existing real estate investments
• Review and confirm accuracy of invoices from JV partners as well as compliance with internal expense policies and fund documents
• Maintain both internal and external facing investment summaries
• Contribute to the team’s data infrastructure improvement efforts through onboarding of external systems and the expansion, maintenance and enhancement of in-place, proprietary tools

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
• 3-6 years of experience in finance roles within portfolio management, real estate and/or private equity exposure a plus
• Candidates MUST have excellent analytical skills, and be highly proficient in MS Excel financial modeling
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to extrapolate, interpret and evaluate financial data and metrics and translate results into financial models and client reports
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be self-motivated, critical thinker, enthusiastic and inquisitive
• Works effectively in a fast-paced, deadline orientated, team environment and consistently demonstrates a high level of organizational skill and customer service
• Fluency in Microsoft Office applications
• Expertise using IMS software a plus
