Development Analyst

Overview

Supports the Investment Team with property underwriting, due diligence, and debt and equity placement.  The analyst will work with the Site Acquisition and Development Teams to evaluate new multifamily development opportunities and assist the Investment Team in capitalizing on them.  This position offers a great opportunity for broad investment analysis experience and exposure to all facets of real estate development including site acquisition, predevelopment, dispositions, asset management, and capital markets.  There will be daily interaction with the company principals and senior management staff and provides the right candidate the opportunity for advancement. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Development:

  • Underwrite multifamily development opportunities by:
    • Creating and maintaining financial models
    • Preparing development budgets
    • Performing market research including income and expense comp analysis.
  • Participate in virtual and on-site property due diligence.
  • Maintain internal development pipeline platform and comp databases.
  • Assist in optimizing capital structure.

Capital Markets:

  • Prepare pitch books and marketing materials for investor presentations and meetings.
  • Prepare internal investment memos and presentations.
  • Update and maintain internal budgets and cash flow projections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, economics, or related field.
  • 1-3+ years of commercial real estate investment experience, preferably multifamily.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
  • Finance knowledge and the ability to understand financial statements is very important.
  • A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.
