JOB SUMMARY
Management and leadership role in area office supporting the wider project related needs of the company. The Commissioning Operations Manager will perform commissioning duties and manage / mentor a team of commissioning agents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides commissioning and / or oversight of commissioning projects and commissioning agents. Directs and administers the commissioning process from concept design through functional testing of systems to post occupancy verification.
Participates in business development proposals and interviews with prospective customers.
Writes commissioning section of contract documents and/or reviews work produced by others.
Performs project design review during the design process; identifies discrepancies and monitors action plans.
Recommends approval to client and documents work performed by the design team, contractors and commissioning agents.
Has authority and responsibility for all QA/QC of commissioning services projects.
Project director for large projects. Develops staffing plan and fee schedules for service proposals
Oversees delivery method of services; provides QA/QC review of all client deliverable reports.
Coordinates field operations to meet contracted deliverables.
Oversight and management of project staff, services, conduct and deliverables. Manages the professional development and growth for all Cx staff.
Financial management and accountability for projects.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the planning, organization, and controls for a major functional area or department. May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in relevant building science, or equivalent, plus appropriate continuing education or 15 years commissioning experience.; or 20+ years construction trade experience.
An additional requirement for this role is the ability to comply with COVID-19 health and safety protocols, including COVID-19 vaccination proof and/or rigorous testing.
CERTIFICATES and / or LICENSES
Fundaments in Engineering (FE) or equivalent or Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent preferred
LEED AP, BCA CCP, OSHA 10 hour Construction Safety preferred
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations of significance to the operation.
