JOB SUMMARY

The "Networking Associate Project Manager" assists the client's Networking team in managing global Data Center program upgrade/retrofit projects. The Data Center Programs impact the critical infrastructure and MEPS Infrastructure for the client's existing data center portfolio. The Associate Program Manager is responsible for supporting the program requirements development, engaging with internal customers, completing individual tasks, and supporting the program through the entire project lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Administration

  • Support multiple program managers new product development programs. Focus is on ability to handle multiple independent activities concurrently and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively collaborate. Thrive in an innovative environment, adapt to and manage frequent change, think analytically, and demonstrate leadership skills. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and administrative problems.
  • Provide end-to-end support to client team
  • Collaborate with large cross-functional teams comprised of Design Vendors, Contractors, Schedulers, Project Controls, Document Controls, Safety, Security, and Logistics
  • Create and maintain program meeting minutes for meetings comprised of 5-20 individuals within cross functional organizations
  • Engage with technical experts and key stakeholders to develop and revise program documents
  • Work with the technical experts and key stakeholders to continually improve communications between the cross-function teams
  • Coordinate with program managers to schedule meetings and workshops of various sizes
  • Draft program reporting with direction from program managers, including providing health of program schedule, budget, and performance, identifying key risks and program opportunities
  • Support team in updating quarterly forecasts and budget spend status
  • Develop plans for improved field execution and delivery across project constraints of schedule, productivity, and costs
  • Utilize Owner's program management processes, software, systems, and tracking tools
  • Assist program managers in scheduling program meetings


Planning

  • Support program team in developing program plans, including creating and establishing the 1) Master Project Schedule based on the Critical Path and key milestones
  • Evaluate technical issues and develop potential solutions for review with key stakeholders
  • Provide input on Value Engineering efforts
  • Assist in developing, assessing, and evaluating program and project risks
  • Perform database queries, includes manipulating output data and creating reports highlighting responses to data queries


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

Manages 3rd party project delivery resources/team (typically smaller team). Responsible for tracking performance and motivating team members.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BEng/BArch) from College or University and/or equivalent related experience.

Experience with Spreadsheets such as Google's Sheets or MS Excel

Experience with Word Processing such as Google's Docs or MS Word

Experience with Presentation Packages such as Google's Slides or MS Powerpoint

Experience with Calendar Applications such as Google's Calendar or MS Calendar

Preferred Education:

Bachelor of Science in one of the following:

Statistics

Computer Science

Mathematics

Recommended experience:

Experience with statistical software such as R or Python

Experience with database languages such as SQ

Experience with Scheduling Software such as Smartsheets

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

PMP (US and/or Canada) and LEED AP preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Working knowledge in MS Project is helpful. Knowledge of leases, contracts, and construction practices preferred.
