Riller Capital is partnered with a leading global private equity firm to invest in hotel real estate. Since its inception in 2019, Riller Capital has acquired nearly $2 billion of properties across 80+ assets and built a team of six investment professionals, led by Suril Shah. Prior to forming Riller Capital, Mr. Shah served as the Head of Hotel Acquisitions at Starwood Capital, where he built and oversaw an $11 billion hotel portfolio, built out asset management capabilities, and served as the President of SH Hotels, a Starwood owned hotel brand management company. 

Riller Capital is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and hands-on Associate, Asset Management to join our team and lead several aspects of asset management for a fast-growing hotel portfolio.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement the investment strategy for a portfolio of assets, optimizing the portfolio’s performance and maximizing their value.
  • Proactively asset-manage a portfolio of select service, full service, and luxury hotels to maximize value and optimize systems and resources.
  • Manage and influence annual operating and capital plans.
  • Engage with hotels and property management teams during regular strategy and performance meetings, working collaboratively and actively participating in the formulation and execution of revenue and operating strategies.
  • Collaborate with the various management company departments to collect, present and respond to their inquiries.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for respective capital partner, for all data or analysis needs for their portfolio.
  • Stay at the forefront of hotel, market, sales, travel trends, indicators, supply and demand dynamics, performance statistics and related topics through various industry-standard tools.
  • Analyze hotel and portfolio level financial data against industry and market benchmarks to uncover gaps and opportunities.
  • Monitor and track capital expenditures (routine capital expenditures and major renovations) at each hotel.
  • Execute on all aspects of writing, research and/or production of specific monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports, meeting minutes, research papers, and annual asset. valuations, and hold/sell analyses – always adhering to predetermined deadlines
  • Additional asset management tasks, as required, to maximize the value and investment return of each hotel and portfolio.
  • Perform all job duties and responsibilities in an honest and ethical manner and in compliance with all laws, regulations, and Company policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS degree required, but advanced degree preferred, ideally in Business, Finance, Hospitality or Real Estate
  • 3-5 years of hospitality experience in ownership, advisory, operations, property management, or asset management and/or investment banking experience preferred

  • Superior analytical skills in all aspects of financial modeling
  • Demonstrated expertise in hotel revenue and operating strategies
  • A team player who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and has a positive attitude and flexibility to change priorities to meet new deadlines or situations
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and thrives working independently
  • Effective negotiator and skilled at establishing effective business relationships
  • Comfortable navigating and analyzing transaction legal documents, financial projections, and financial reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective professional working relationships
