Responsibilities
As a Director of Strategic Projects with Hines, you will drive the West Region’s ESG implementation approach across platform and assets – collaborating closely with Hines’ regional, central, and related consultant teams to do so successfully. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Initiate and scale Hines Solar development venture.

Work with leaders on decarbonization strategies within our own portfolio.

Pursue Net Zero and other green objectives.

Explore pathways into affordable and attainable housing.

Turn on the platform for the benefit of others by taking ideas from Project Caritas (an ongoing West Region effort to identify as a group the most efficient ways to turn out platform on for the benefits for others).

Assess, develop, implement, and expand ESG strategies across the Western US platform.

Establish and maintain relationships with broad Hines teams across verticals.
-
Support individual project teams with their ESG strategies and implementation.

Review and leverage technology to boost ESG improvements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; MBA degree preferred.
- Eight or more years of experience in real estate development, asset management or property management.

Entrepreneurial and philanthropic spirit.

Strong knowledge of the West Region market and platform.

Driven, rigorous, flexible, versatile.

Elite project management skills.

Ability to think critically, creatively, and innovatively about launching new businesses.

Strong people skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Capable of working with many different constituencies within a matrix organization.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, able to prioritize and work independently.

Sensible in terms of the theoretical side of ESG vs. the practical side of implementing ESG in real estate.

Strong capabilities in underwriting and financing real estate.

Understanding of real estate construction, development, operations, and tech.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

A second language will be considered as an asset.

Fluency in MS Office and Excel.
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and independence.
- Compensation: $162,000 - $202,500.
