Salary:  Min: $90,756.64 - Max: $142,683.58

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field. A minimum of five to nine years of professional experience in the design, construction and/or management of building or engineering projects is required.

Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces (PROS) seeks a candidate with experience and commitment to Design Excellence with portfolio of varied and complex design projects in which candidate has been responsible for managing. Ideal candidate should be a Registered Architect or Licensed Professional Engineer with knowledge of the Park and Recreation Department's Open Space Master Plan (OSMP), Smart Growth Principles, LEED practices, working knowledge of GIS/AutoCAD, RS Means, Project Management Software and a Master's degree is highly desired.

This division head will work with a highly motivated team of professionals to implement Miami-Dade County Park's OSMP.  The OSMP serves as the blueprint for improving the quality of life and transforming our neighborhoods into a vibrant community for residents and visitors through a connected park system.  This will be accomplished through the implementation of best practices in placemaking that guide the design construction of iconic parks and public spaces, the preservation and enhancement of historic sites, the implementation of signature greenways and blueways, and providing safe routes to parks. The division head is responsible for the oversight and management of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Project Management and Construction Sections, in the Planning, Design and Construction Excellence Division. The responsibilities of this position entail implementing innovative and collaborative leadership management techniques to oversee and inspire multiple teams through the entire life cycle of a project from concept through construction, including developing an efficient public outreach processes. The candidate will strategize on PROS plans with the Planning and Research unit and works with Capital Programs to track budgets, resource allocation, and monitor progress on priority projects. Supervision is exercised over direct reports and work is subject to evaluation on the basis of results achieved.
