General Counsel

Real estate owner and manager is looking for a General Counsel with experience working in-house for a NYC real estate owner.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, acquisitions documents, construction documents, development agreements and loan documents involving a variety of sources of financing.
• Providing legal advice and guidance to management on a wide variety of issues
• Overseeing senior attorney and selecting/managing outside counsel as needed
• Identifying and assist with managing areas of risk for the company
• Ensuring compliance on a variety of matters

Position Qualifications:

• Must have a JD from an ABA accredited law school and be a member in good standing of the New York state bar
• Job Experience: 10+ years of legal experience including in-house real estate company experience
