Summary

Trumark Companies is launching a new commercial/mixed-use focused division and is looking for a dynamic, commercial/retail experienced real estate leader with motivated vision to integrate into an expanded mixed-use focus.

The successful individual will have an entrepreneurial drive, big picture vision founded in market expertise, and a passion for deal-making and creating cutting-edge, inspiring communities. The Managing Director will play dual-roles as a strategic visionary and an on-the-ground executor to build today’s communities for tomorrow’s lifestyles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Managing Director reports directly to the co-owners of Trumark and works collaboratively with the other operating divisions of the Trumark family of companies, with elevated cross-company support during the launch phase. The Managing Director will build and lead a best-in-class team to execute on division goals.

  • Runs day-to-day division operations, with focused oversight during the launch phase.
  • Drives and is responsible for the profitability/P & L performance for Trumark Commercial.
  • Recruits, hires and manages division leadership members and holds them accountable for their performance.
  • Drives team to execute the business plan; communicates with and manages all areas of the business - Sales & Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Human Resources.
  • Develops the annual and three-year business plans to support Trumark Commercial’s vision; using market insight to anticipate, plan for, and act on new opportunities.
  • Leads the sourcing of project equity and works with Trumark's finance and accounting team to ensure timely and effective partner communication and reporting.
  • Works closely with the Trumark Principals to execute and communicate the Company Vision, Mission, and Core Values and ensures they are lived-out and incorporated into the division’s work processes and final product.
  • Resolves division issues; solves for challenges and improves internal and external operations.
  • Develops and coaches leadership and associates to achieve their best performance; identifies top talent and encourages skill growth.
  • Creates a fun and motivating environment for the Trumark Commercial team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Real Estate market expertise; foresight into emerging trends and strong investment opportunities
  • Operations prowess; ability and interest to build an entity from the ground up - excited by thinking big picture while doing whatever it takes to get the job done

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, top management, equity partners and lenders, and/or public groups.
  • Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, equity partners and lenders, and property owners
  • Strong track-record in retail, commercial development, leasing and property management
  • Willingness to travel within California and other states as opportunities dictate; knowledge of and/or ability to evaluate viability of new markets
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
