JRCo is also a SEC-registered investment adviser, with 15 years of fund management experience and $1.1 billion of assets under management. 

Within JRCo, the Acquisitions Group focuses on the acquisition of affordable and mixed-income multifamily housing in transit-oriented or walkable locations nationally. The Group acquires properties with private equity funds (and when applicable, with Low Income Housing Tax Credits) in order to preserve affordability, improve economic and environmental performance, and enhance the lives of residents. We acquire properties directly or in joint venture with local partners who share our vision and commitment to making an impact.  

We are currently seeking a talented individual to fulfill the role of Coordinator in the Acquisitions Group. This role provides administrative and project management support to the Managing Director for Acquisitions and a team of 5 professionals.  This position is based in our New York City Office.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Coordinator will assist the Managing Director (MD) and team with the following:

  • Provide executive support for the MD and team, including contact management (Outlook and SalesForce), scheduling and meeting coordination, travel planning, document preparation and management, filing, expense reporting (Concur), time keeping, compliance reporting, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Track and manage flow of legal documents for closings, including reviewing for accuracy, gathering signatures and notarization's, and timely transmission to external parties.
  • Manage digital file-sharing for transactions with internal and external parties.
  • Manage documentation related to the firm’s internal Investment Committee, including the preparation and distribution of meetings materials, taking of meeting minutes, filing of digital documents and maintaining a dated log of all materials distributed.
  • Prepare and compile information for applications and disclosures to lenders, investors and public agencies for project financing.
  • Maintain digital transaction files in good order.
  • Prepare check and wire request forms.
  • Attend group meetings, prepare minutes and follow-up task tracking.
  • Draft legal organizational charts.
  • Act as a liaison to other groups within the firm and assist with firm-wide administrative and organizational tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

The work of the Acquisitions Group is transactional in nature, and as a result, the Coordinator’s work is time-sensitive and deadline oriented. The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years work experience in a legal, investment or real estate related field
  • Affordable housing experience a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Facility with standard computer software programs, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Notary Public preferred
