Job Purpose (Job Summary):
The GBS Senior Analyst-Compensation performs accounting and financial reporting within the global compensation center of excellence; 4-6 years of experience required.



Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Assists in the preparation of financial reports in accordance with GAAP, regulatory, and Invesco policies.
  • Ensures that reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepares journal entries in accordance with GAAP principles, specifically journals related to payroll costs, benefits, and employee stock.
  • Maintains proper Sarbanes-Oxley documentation on areas of responsibility in scope for SOX audits and ensures compliance with documented controls.
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepares variance analyses, including budget/forecast vs. actual analyses. Must be able to identify variance, determine cause of variance, and document findings
  • Supports work transitions to offshore shared service center, including documentation of accounting processes, training resources, and providing post transition support
  • Reviews monthly GBS metrics compiled for Record-to-Report activities; reviews analysis of trends and works with Manager and End to End Lead to recommend remediation plans for areas that are not meeting established service level agreements.
  • Supports coordination of compensation related projects including but not limited to strategic initiatives and software implementations.
  • This responsibility includes providing requirements, creating test scripts, performing system testing, identifying and logging bugs, etc.
  • Performs special analysis and tasks as required by finance department managers.
  • Prepares supporting schedules for annual audit reports, answers questions, and works with auditors on the annual audit.
  • Assists Manager in leading special projects, allocating work load among staff, and mentoring/training junior staff; assists junior staff with completion of critical assignments as necessary

 

Work Experience / Knowledge:

  • 4 to 6 years of accounting or financial reporting experience is required.
  • Must have a solid understanding of accounting and financial principles and be able to apply these principles to corporate accounting.
  • Must have knowledge of SOX requirements.
  • Experience working in a shared service center supporting global operations is highly preferred

Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required:

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • Ability to handle confidential information is critical.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and be proficient in reviewing financial data.
  • Must be able to utilize computer equipment and software, specifically spreadsheet applications.
  • The ability to cooperate in a team environment is critical.
  • Experience with Oracle Financials, ADP, and Blackline is a plus

Formal Education: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • An Accounting degree is strongly preferred.

License/Registration/Certification: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • Candidacy for Certified Public Accountant designation is required.
  • Designation as a Certified Public Accountant is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal work environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.
  • May be required to lift, carry, or move weights of up to 10 pounds.
  • Some international travel may be required; must be willing to work early morning or evening hours occasionally to support global operations as needed
  • Frequent sitting and visual concentration is also required.
