Albany Road was established in July 2012 by four partners to deliver attractive risk-adjusted returns for their high net worth and family office investors. Originally based out of Boston, the firm’s initial focus was on opportunities across New England, but has since opened up headquarters in Nashville and expanded its reach into the Southeast. Currently, the firm owns and operates out of six cities and five states in the Southeast including Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Tampa, and Huntsville. Albany Road employs a disciplined investment approach focused on, among other attributes, cost basis, yield, geography, product-type, and opportunities that allow it to take advantage of a continued and historically advantageous debt market. The Albany Road team collectively brings more than 200 years of real estate, investment banking, and venture capital experience to its established platform. The diverse, yet complementary, skill sets of the group provide the firm with a unique perspective and discipline that is utilized in evaluating a wide range of real estate opportunities. Since its launch on July 1st, 2012, Albany Road has acquired 52 properties across 12 states, totaling 12.2 million SF, with a gross asset value of approximately $1.4 billion. Specifically within the Southeast, the firm has acquired 4.6 million SF across 20 assets with an asset value of $590 million. Albany Road is focused on acquiring properties at a favorable basis, and at a discount to replacement costs, reducing the likelihood the property will have to compete with any new development projects. The firm pursues a variety of product types including but not limited to suburban office, urban office, medical office, warehouses, distribution spaces, flex industrial, and self-storage.
