CBRE's Design practice has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in our new Buckhead office in Atlanta,  GA.  This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years' experience to work on complex electrical building systems for large commercial, public and industrial projects.  CBRE's Design practice is growing - come grow your career with us.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Prepares electrical designs and perform calculations in support of large commercial and industrial projects - both renovation and new construction.

 

 

Assist the Senior Engineer with planning the layout of a project and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval

 

Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.

 

Prepares scaled drawings and contract documents for building contractors.

 

Assists Senior Engineer with construction administration duties and conducting periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.

 

Directs integration of technical activities and products including the preparation of operating and maintenance manuals, studies and reports.

 

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.  Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.  Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.  Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff.  Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.  Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.


QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor's Degree  or Master's Degree from four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering.

 

Minimum 5 years' relevant experience required.  

 

Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.

 

Experience with Revit is strongly preferred

 

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

 

Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

 

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
