JOB SUMMARY:
Support the Development team in all phases of the development investment cycle, including site identification, feasibility, underwriting, financing, design, entitlement, construction, leasing and disposition.


REPORTS TO:
Vice President of Development


DIRECT REPORTS:
None


MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Entrepreneurial Initiative; ability to quickly assess a broad and dynamic set of qualitative and quantitative factors in making pursuit and investment recommendations, including market risk, execution risk, internal resource constraints, and probability of concomitant returns.
  • Exceptional Excel modeling skills including construction of dynamic pro formas, sensitivity tables, construction loan modeling and creation of complex equity waterfalls.
  • Spatial and aesthetic abilities; passion and appreciation for high-quality design.
  • Ability and desire to engage personally and communicate effectively with colleagues across functions, as well as external stakeholders in the development cycle, including:  brokers, city planners and local politicians, consultants, lenders, and investors.
  • Resourcefulness to independently research market data from various sources and organize findings in a meaningful way for purposes of investment decisions.
  • Preparation of internal and external investment memoranda and other presentation materials.  A good eye for graphic detail is needed to prepare polished, professional presentations.
  • Detail-oriented, but ability to simplify and summarize clearly.
  • Desire to pursue real estate development and investment as a career.

  • Ability to work in remote office setting (i.e. in a different city than headquarters.)

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years of work experience in real estate, finance, or similar professional field.
  • Dallas, TX market familiarity and established network
  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must meet company background investigation and drug screening.

DEGREES/DIPLOMAS
  • BS or BA
  • MBA or applicable graduate degree desirable
