About the Role

BrandView s Asset Manager & Chief of Staff role is an intense and entrepreneurial position that offers significant opportunities for increasing responsibility, impacting our growth, and shaping the company's evolution. The leader will work alongside and serve as the right hand to the Founder & Managing Principal to help the firm execute its mission: To be the world s best investor-operator of value-added mixed-use properties.


The role responsibilities span asset-level execution and business operations within commercial real estate private equity investment. Asset-level execution will initially constitute 70% of the role, with 30% focused on business operations and special projects. Successful performance offers the opportunity to transition towards a greater focus on business operations and special projects, with the goal of expanding and enhancing company operations and growing the assets under management. This leader must be forward-thinking, able to handle operational challenges and day-to-day issues, and keep the dots connected across all departments.

Job Functions & Responsibilities


Asset-Level Execution:

  • Quarterback, manage, and drive all processes that enhance asset value, including comprehensive asset management, project management, and asset operations.
  • Lead and direct strategic property planning and budgeting based on thorough market research and financial analysis; oversee financial reporting, re-forecasting, hold/sale analyses, and ad-hoc analysis to improve property operations and drive NOI; prepare quarterly investor updates on financial performance, operations, and market positioning; and facilitate refinancing, dispositions, and due diligence for acquisitions.
  • Project Management: Lead complex land entitlement, capital expenditure, and tenant improvement projects from design and permitting to construction completion. Onboard and supervise construction managers, engineers, architects, and consultants; work with accounting to track project costs; proactively communicate with project stakeholders; and ensure compliance with BrandView standards.
  • Asset Operations: Oversee and optimize leasing and property management processes across retail, creative office, and multifamily spaces; Integrate with Property Management, Leasing, Investments, Accounting, and Legal functions to develop schedules, budgets, and deliver quality, on-time/on-budget projects; manage internal and external teams and communications with tenants, investors, and lenders.

Business Operations:

  • Develop, prioritize, and manage company strategic roadmap to scale business operations: Serve as Integrator to prioritize key business initiatives and drive day-to-day operations through execution of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
  • Develop annual plans, quarterly goals, and drive weekly action plans that align to our strategic roadmap; Own and prepare meeting agendas, materials, and coordinate follow-up with key stakeholders both internally and externally; ensure streamlined processes, goal achievement, accountability, and professional development among our team; own hiring and foster a vibrant and high-performing culture of key consultants & full-time A-players; configure and optimize tech stack to create maximum efficiency and operating leverage.

Special Projects:

  • Manage cross-functional projects from inception to transition, ensuring they align with business priorities and timelines.
  • Work with Managing Principal to identify, test, and execute opportunities for new lines of revenue and key business differentiators, developing solutions and processes to achieve business objectives, growth, and profitability.
Qualifications

Base Requirements:

  • 2-5+ years experience in commercial real estate asset management and/or development management in commercial, mixed-use, and multifamily properties.
  • Quantifiable record of asset-level project success.
  • Strong financial literacy with recurring financial reporting experience.
  • Well-versed in developing and driving performance through business metrics.
  • Direct experience configuring and maintaining multiple software tools, systems, processes.
  • Entrepreneurial and results-driven: Runs through walls to get it done with a track record of high efficiency/output.
  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Exceptional professionalism, interpersonal skills, and verbal/written communication.
  • Able to work in our Los Angeles office 3-4 days per week and travel locally, as needed, for special projects, property leasing, and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of financial analyst experience.
  • Strong experience with financial modeling and presentations (MS PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of small business operating principles & models, particularly the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
  • Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Engineering Project Management, or related field

Desired:

  • Experience as a Chief of Staff, Asset Manager, or Biz Ops role at a CRE investment/asset management platform, high growth startup.
  • Experience working in a company running on EOS.
Compensation
$110,000 - $150,000 yearly
