Summary:

Rivington Company is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team, focusing on the financial management of real estate development projects. This role offers the opportunity to engage deeply with financial planning, investor relations, and project financing, contributing significantly to our mission of developing high-quality assets. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, the successful candidate will shape the financial landscape of both our individual projects and fast growing company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • General:
    • Manage accounts payable processes and bank reconciliations
    • Prepare monthly financial statements for properties and investment partnerships, and maintain supporting information
    • Maintain updated and accurate equity schedules and investor allocations 
    • Assist with preparation of investor capital calls and distribution schedules
    • Assist with investor reporting
    • Coordinate tax returns for project level entities
    • Assist outside accounting firms with tax filing processes and financial statement audits, if any
    • Development and implement Rabbet software processes for all projects
    • Maintain accounting software, set up new entities, accounts, etc.
    • Maintain corporate schedule of financial milestones (interest payments, partner distributions, tax fillings, etc)
  • Development:
    • Work with project managers to maintain development budgets, reflect budget revisions and cost reclassifications as necessary
    • Prepare of assist with preparation of construction lender draws
    • Assist with cost accumulation processes for cost certification/segregation reports and lender equity requirements
  • Stabilization:
    • Review property manager financial reporting
    • Manage accounting for property tax, insurance, capex, debt service, and other activity not accounted for by property manager
    • Organize performance metrics and other KPI’s for asset management / investor reporting
    • Prepare lender reserve draws (interest, insurance, other)

Desired Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Real Estate.  A Master's Degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) would be a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or financial management.  Specific experience with real estate project financing, construction accounting, or property management is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, particularly within the real estate sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems, with the ability to set up new entities, manage accounts, and ensure data integrity.
  • Experience assisting with tax filings and audits.
  • Ability to work closely with project managers to maintain development budgets, understand project financing needs, and manage lender draws and reserves.
  • Experience in reviewing and managing property manager reporting, including accounting for property tax, insurance, capex, and debt service.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to organize performance metrics and other KPIs for asset management and investor reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
